Here is one way to tell:
Take a rag or puppy pee pad, rub it all over your buck to get his scent on it. Show it to your doe to be sniffed or rubbed on, which is a very good sign she is coming into or is in a standing heat. Do this every day until finally she is very interested in the buck rag. She will sniff, rub on, her lip may curl up (Flehmen response: This behavior involves lifting their upper lip to expose the vomeronasal organ located in the roof of their mouth. By doing so, goats are able to detect and analyze the buck scent more effectively), and tail wagging.
If any or all of these signs are present with your doe, it's time to breed!
