The Screwpull lever is the ultimate wine-opening tool for anybody who wants to enter a bottle-opening race. With a single, quick lever motion, this device drills down through the cork and extracts it in a fraction of a second.
Jo's Note: "Corkscrews, invented around 1800, are an interesting collectible. There are two types of corkscrews: those where the power comes from the person operating the mechanism (known as a straight pull) and those with a mechanism that produces the power. Antique and vintage corkscrews come in a wide variety of shapes (including novelty corkscrews that take on fun forms like animals or people), and their handles are made from a range of materials, such as metal, bone, or wood. Vintage corkscrews may be made of Lucite such as this one. What is the definition of a Vintage item. Generally it is an item 20 years old or older. This is an original, highly collectible, patented "Screwpull" bottle opener invented by Herbert Allen, in 1979. It originally also came with a stand which is often missing! This one has all the original parts and is in excellent previously owned condtion."
